Grooming Services
Nail trims, dematting, shaving, baths and other grooming services are available to our clients.
Does your long-haired cat frequently get mats in his/her fur?
Do leaves, dirt, and other debris get caught in it?
Does (s)he have trouble keeping himself clean?
Does your cat seem uncomfortable because of the length of his/her hair?
If your answer to any of these questions is yes, we recommend shaving your cat. Belly shaves, and sanitary clips (for the rear area) are also available for cats who only have problematic spots.
Body shaves keep your cat clean and comfortable, and reduce the risk of disease caused by wastes trapped in the fur. Many people worry that shaving a cat will cause it to be cold in the winter. However, matted fur does little to retain heat. Badly matted hair can be quite painful and even restrict movement.
Bathing is sometimes necessary and we do offer the service. Long-haired cats tend to mat after bathing so we only bath them when absolutely necessary.
Nail trims are performed as a complimentary service when requested. Some grooming requires anesthesia, depending on the cat's temperment and discomfort level.
